Counseling / Therapy for Moms

Becoming a mom changes you.

No matter what stage of mothering you are in, it’s hard. You are carrying a lot. The feeling of being overwhelmed is constantly there and because of that, you are often in reactive mode. Being the “house manager” is hard and caring for everyone else’s needs causes you to put yours aside. Whether you are a working mom or a stay-at-home mom, it’s a lot to manage. You might ask yourself, how do people do this? How can I manage all of these things and take care of myself? Or how do I carry all of this and be a patient, kind, and loving mom to my kids?

Your own kids can trigger you like nobody else.

You might have a child or children that you don’t understand or connect with like your other(s). Maybe you are lost as to how to parent them because they aren’t like your other kids, or they don’t respond to the same parenting strategies that your others did. Because of stressors and frustrations, you react to your child in a way that isn’t you. You might feel reactive or like you don’t have control over your responses to them.

Or maybe you have no clue why you parent the way you do because you don’t have time to think about it; you are on auto-pilot. Most people parent the way they were raised, but that might not be how you want to be as a mother.

You are not alone, and I am here to help.

I see you. As a mother and house manager myself, I will sit with you in the overwhelm. During sessions, we will create a safe and trusting space for you to share your struggles. Together we will accept and process all your challenges as a mom. I will push you to get curious about yourself and what you need. Our sessions will focus on you. You will have the opportunity to look at how you are currently parenting and how you WANT to parent. We will talk about the mom you WANT to be and make it a reality.
